Cheddar cheese is a relatively hard, off-white (or orange if colourings such as annatto are added), sometimes sharp-tasting, natural cheese. Its made up of pasteurized process cheese can be made from a single cheese, or a blend of several cheeses. Cream, milk fat, water, salt, artificial colour, and spices may also be added. The mixture is heated with an emulsifier, poured into a mould, and allowed to cool.
